The Culinary Collaboration

Alice + Pao at the dinner table

We recently had the honor of hosting a wine and dinner experience in Boston; collaborating with our dear friend Pao Thampitak of Gaaeng thai Supper Club. This of course was not the first time we’ve worked with Pao (read: The Answer is Not Riesling) and yet this particular dinner was distinctly special.

Unlike the ones before it, this culinary collaboration truly showcased the vision of our work in action: we paired authentic Thai dishes with thoughtfully selected wines from small producers throughout the Willamette Valley. We made an intentional effort to meet each of the winemakers and get to know about their winemaking style and philosophy. They graciously tasted us through some, if not all, of the wines in their porfolio, before we selected the bottles we felt would best compliment the menu.

We believe in the power of storytelling to create bridges—bridges that connect people to the diverse cultures behind global cuisines, and to the winemakers whose hard work deserves appreciation. During the dinner event, the food and wine became our vehicle for such storytelling. Allowing us to create a space where our guests could connect over shared appreciation for the food and wines made with care.

This was a proud moment for us.
